This election will be held on Thursday 2 May 2024.
The Mayor of West Yorkshire helps direct the overall strategy of the five councils which make up the West Yorkshire Combined Authority. The Mayor oversees police in the region, and also has responsibilities in areas including transport, adult education and skills, housing and economic development.
